Small Business Assistance
Since it was founded in 2006, STEPS has nurtured more than 20 small businesses throughout the Albuquerque metro area, helping them with startup and referring them to appropriate local resources as they become ready. We continue to support our clients as they grow with one on one consulting and the expertise of our Resource Board.
Food Carts
In 2010 STEPS focused on food carts as a way for budding culinary entrepreneurs to start a business. A “how to” workshop series, work with a City food cart task force, and proposals to amend local zoning codes supplemented one on one assistance to these clients. We are working towards the opening of Albuquerque’s first food cart pod at the Talin Market at Louisiana and Central SE in March 2011.
ABQIF
In 2009, STEPS organized the first Albuquerque International Festival. The second ABQIF, held in 2010, was even bigger and better than the first. This annual event highlights small businesses and the culture and creativity of Albuquerque’s International District.
